A young soldier in China's Red Army was the constant object of humiliation and ridicule because of his being a Christian and his belief in God.
One day, his commanding officer who was intent on humiliating the young soldier before the troops as usual called the young man, handed him the key to an Army jeep and ordered him to drive the jeep which was on the street and to park it on the parking lot space closest to where the troops stood in formation by the company barracks.
The young man informed his commanding officer that he did not know how to drive at all.
The commanding officer then sarcastically said: "Well, why don't you ask your God for assistance and let your God show us that he actually exists?"
After some hesitation, the young soldier felt an invisible force or unseen power prompt him to take the dare. And so, with the jeep's key in his hand, the soldier walked to the vehicle, slid onto the driver's seat, bowed his head and prayed.
And as soon as he opened his eyes, he again felt the unseen force guide his hand and insert the key into the jeep's ignition, turn the key, drive the jeep, and park it perfectly on the parking lot space as ordered by the commanding officer.
The young man got off the jeep, walked back to return the key to the commanding officer, and as he walked back to his spot in the platoon formation, he was surprised to see that each of his fellow soldiers' face was tear-streaked. He wondered why.
The commanding officer then walked to the jeep, opened the jeep's hood, and in everyone's full view, it showed that the jeep had no engine!
Totally shaken and in utter disbelief, the commanding officer walked back to where the soldiers stood, turned apologetically to the young Christian soldier, and confessed to him and everyone that the engine-less jeep was purposely placed as a joke and a ruse to humiliate and ridicule the young soldier and his God. What was meant to be an insult to the soldier and his God back-fired terribly.
Since that day, the captain and the other soldiers who witnessed the "modern 21st century miracle" stopped ridiculing the young Christian soldier and God. More importantly, everyone who witnessed what happened asked how they, too, can become Christians!
What a powerful modern-day proof and witness that God is real and with God nothing is impossible!
