A couple were involved in a terrible car accident which severely burned the man’s face. The husband was informed by the consulting plastic surgeon that it was impossible to get any skin graft from his body because he was too skinny. So, the wife offered to donate some of her own skin. However, the only part in her body which the doctor found suitable as skin graft donor site was her buttocks.
With no other recourse, the husband and wife agreed to proceed with the procedure. Also, they promised to tell no one about the skin graft source. Of course, because of medical etiquette & physician-patient confidentiality, the plastic surgeon was bound to secrecy as well.
After the surgery, everyone was amazed at the man’s new face. He looked so much handsomer, and his friends and relatives raved about his youthful appearance!
One day, while alone with his wife, the man was overcome with emotion at the thought of her sacrifice. He then said, “Honey, I just want to thank you for everything you did for me. How can I ever repay you?”
She replied, “Darling, I already get all the thanks and compensation I need and want every time I see your mother kiss you on the cheeks." -Contributed by Ralph
