To everyone, both Christian and/or non-Christian, one important question bears asking: Do you really and truly know what literally took place on Good Friday of the first and original Holy Week in Jerusalem about 2000 years ago?
If you have not, please set aside whatever you are doing for the next couple of minutes or so and consider the fact & truth about what actually occurred that week, and particularly on that Good Friday during the trial and crucifixion of Jesus Christ. He was 33 years old when the event took place
1) On Holy Thursday, Jesus Christ and the twelve (12) men who were His "closest earthly friends" {a.k.a. His apostles or disciples} held their so-called Last Supper together. After the supper, they went to the garden of Gethsemane. Close to midnight, Roman soldiers led by Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples who betrayed and sold Him for 30 pieces of silver to the Jewish religious leaders, came and arrested Him based on trumped up charges of sedition & inciting rebellion according to several witnesses who were bribed by Jewish leaders give false testimony (tell lies) against Him.
2) On Good Friday, after a sleepless night of being dragged between Jewish and Roman authorities, Jesus Christ underwent a hasty trial, and was quickly condemned to die by crucifixion.

2) On Good Friday, after a sleepless night of being dragged between Jewish and Roman authorities, Jesus Christ underwent a hasty trial, and was quickly condemned to die by crucifixion.
But before His crucifixion, He was savagely beaten and tortured by flogging with the use of a torturing device known as cat of nine tails, a whip composed of leather thongs with barbed balls at their tip, which tore open and raked/took bits of the flesh and skin on Jesus' back as the whip was pulled back. Additionally, a crown of thorns [with thorns 2 to 3 inches long] was thrust deeply onto Jesus' head.
3) From the trial hall [the Roman prefect Pontius Pilate's house] to the place of the crucifixion on a hill called Golgotha (or Calvary) outside Jerusalem's city gates, a heavy crucifixion cross -- the crossbeam of the cross alone reportedly weighed about 30 kilograms (almost 14 pounds) was placed on Jesus' shoulder, which He was ordered to drag all the way from the trial hall to the crucifixion site about two kilometers (almost a mile) away.
4) At the site of the crucifixion, the most agonizing, most demeaning, and most humiliating punishment and the worst kind of death designed for a criminal, Jesus was:
stripped completely naked;
- each of Jesus' arm was stretched out and nails 6-8 inches long were driven through each wrist
- and hammered to the "T" (cross beam) of the cross. It is known that there is a tendon in the wrist which extends to the shoulder, and with the process of hammering a nail through the wrist tendon could/would tear forcing Jesus to use His back muscles to support Himself so that He could breathe;
- Jesus feet were put together (one-on-top-of-the-other) which forced Him to support His entire body weight on the single nail which impaled His feet to the cross. Jesus could not support Himself with His legs for long because of the intense pain, so He was forced to alternate between arching His back and using His legs in order to breath;
- Jesus was crucified between two thieves;
- Jesus literally sweat blood and water after all His blood (3.5 liters is the amount of blood in the human body) had drained from all His wounds on His body and face as a result of the flogging and crown of thorns;
- Jesus was given vinegar on a sponge when He felt thirsty and asked for a drink;
- Jesus was pierced with a spear to His torso while on the cross.
Jesus Christ endured the crucifixion process which lasted about three (3) hours -- yes, three hours! -- from the time He was nailed to the cross until His last and final breath, and under the intense heat of desert sun.
And in spite of all the atrocities, discomfort, and pain which Jesus was unjustly subjected to, Jesus still prayed for all of His (false) accusers and tormentors: "Father, forgive them for they know not what they do."
Lastly, the major difference(s) between Christianity (Jesus Christ's religion) and all the other religions and philosophies of the world is: Christianity, the religion established by Jesus Christ, is the only earthly religion:

- that has and talks of/teaches about a LOVING, omnipotent, omnipresent, and omniscient God of LOVE, who wants nothing but the best for every creature/everyone.
