Majority of Americans are unaware of important historical facts contained on a one dollar bill because those facts have never been taught in American history classes. Why? Because most teachers of American history don't know them, either.
On the backside of the $1 bill are two circles.
INSIDE THE CIRCLE on the LEFT-HAND side is a pyramid with an illuminated cap detached from the pyramid, and inside the illuminated cap is the an "eye" which is the ancient symbol of divinity or an "all seeing God". The "uncompleted" pyramid symbolizes the country's "unfinished" work and yet-to-come important contributions to the world.
At the base of the pyramid is the Roman numeral for 1776, the country's year of birth or founding.
Above the pyramid are the Latin words: ANNUIT COEPTIS, which in English mean "God has favored our undertaking".
Below the pyramid are the Latin words: NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM which in English mean "a new order has begun".
Below and outside the circle with the pyramid are the words: THE GREAT SEAL.
At the center and in between the two circles on the back side of the $1 bill [and also imprinted on the back of ALL dollar bills -- $5, $10, $50, $100, etc.] are the words:
IN GOD WE TRUST.

INSIDE THE CIRCLE on the RIGHT-HAND side is a bald eagle, the national bird of the USA, which had been selected as a symbol because of its fearlessness, smartness {intelligence}, and strength to rise and soar above any storm.
In the eagle's beak is a banner/ribbon with the Latin words: E PLURIBUS UNUM which in English mean "out of many, one".
On the eagle's body/chest is an unsupported shield with one light {white} horizontal bar on the top of the shield symbolizing unity {Congress} and thirteen alternating light {white} and dark vertical stripes representing the first 13 original colonies. Also the unsupported shield signifies that the nation can stand on its own after having broken off relationship with England.
Held on the eagle's right talons is an olive branch to indicate that the country wants peace and freedom.

Held on the eagle's left talons are 13 arrows to denote that the country is willing to fight to preserve peace and freedom.
Above the eagle's head is a "sunburst" with thirteen stars, again representing the 13 original colonies, and the stars are arranged in a formation of the Star of David.

Below and outside the circle with the eagle are the words: OF THE UNITED STATES.
Altogether, the two circles form the GREAT SEAL OF THE UNITED STATES
However, the circle with the eagle is the portion of the GREAT SEAL which is often seen public in association with the President of the United States, whenever and wherever the US President goes, thus, it is also considered the "SEAL of the US Presidency" and is the front [side] of the GREAT SEAL of the UNITED STATES.
The GREAT SEAL was conceived and designed by several men led by Benjamin Franklin, who were requested by the First Continental Congress to do the task. It took four years of careful thought to create and design the GREAT SEAL, and it took another two years for it to be finally approved and after plenty of debate by members of the Continental Congress.
Interestingly, while most of the world considers the Number 13 to be "unlucky" and/or a sign of "bad luck", the United States which has been founded on and relies upon GOD to direct and lead it, has boldly and freely admitted to, and proudly and has openly displayed and proclaimed the:
13 original colonies;
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence;
13 stripes on the US flag;
13 steps on the pyramid in the US$1 bill;
13 letters in the Latin words 'Annuit Coeptis';
13 letters in the Latin words 'E Pluribus Unum';
13 bars or stripes on the eagle's shield;
13 arrows on the eagle's left talons;
13 leaves on the olive branch on the eagle's right talons; and if one looks closely. . .
13 olive fruits on the olive branch.
And finally, it is worth noticing the 13 stars above the eagle's head arranged in the form of the Star of David.
The Star of David on the US$1 bill was actually placed there per George Washington's request to honor a Philadelphia Jew named Chaim [or Haym] Solomon, who helped save the Continental Army and the USA through his personal and unselfish financial contribution of $25 million, which finally paid for America's --our-- freedom & liberty from England. –Contributed by Ralph
