A man walked into a sports bar around 9:58 p.m., sat on the bar stool next to a blonde, and began to watch final minutes of a football game on TV.
Shortly thereafter, the 10 o'clock news came on showing a suicidal man on the ledge of a building preparing to jump.
The blonde looked at the man and asked, "Do you think he'll jump?"
The man replied, "You know, I bet he'll jump."
The blonde countered, "Well, I'll bet you $20 dollars he won't."
The guy placed his $20 bill on the bar and said, "You're on!"
Just as the blonde placed her money on the bar, the guy on the ledge did a swan dive off the building's ledge and fell to his death.
The blonde was very upset, but willingly handed her $20 to the man as she conceded and said, "Fair's fair. Here's your money."
The man then said, "I can't take your money. I saw this earlier on the 6 o'clock news. So, I knew he would jump."
The blonde replied, "I did, too, but I didn't think he'd do it again."
The man took the money.
