Etiquette for non-pet owners who visit [& complain about the hosts' pets]:
1. The pets live here; you don't.
2. If you don't want animal hair on your clothes, stay off the furniture. That's why it is called furniture.
3. A pet owner probably likes the pet a lot better than he/she likes some [or even most] people.
4. To the non-pet owner, the cat or dog is just an animal. To the pet owner, the cat or dog is a family member, who is short, hairy, walks on all fours, and is easier to deal with than humans.

Also, remember that to pet owners, dogs and cats are much better than children because they:
a) eat less and are not finicky;
b) don't ask for money at all;
c) are easier to train;
d) come when called;
e) never ask to borrow the car;
f) don't have druggies or criminals for friends;
g) don't smoke, drink, chew tobacco or cuss;
h) are not crazy about the latest fads and fashions;
i) don't want to borrow or wear your clothes;
j) don't sass or talk back disrespectfully;
k) don't need a gazillion dollars for college;
l) are easier to dispose of; and
m) if the bitch gets pregnant, her off springs can either be sold or given away without any hassle.
