12. Try to make at least three people smile each day.

13. Clear your life of clutter and unnecessary junk in your car, your desk, and your house.

14. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip, issues of the past, negative thoughts or things you cannot control. Instead, focus your energy on the positive and on what is really important at the present moment.

15. Keep in mind that life is a school and you are here to learn, and learning is a lifetime process. Problems are simply part of the curriculum which appear and fade away like your hated algebra class, but make sure that you learn the lessons of life very well, so that you do not repeat the same mistakes.

16. Eat breakfast like a king, lunch like a prince, and dinner like a homeless pauper or a college kid who is down to the last few cents in his cafeteria meal ticket.

17. Smile and laugh more---they will keep negative thoughts and the blues away.

18. Life isn't fair---accept it as part of reality.

19. Life is too short to waste time hating anyone.

20. Don't take yourself so seriously. No one else does.

21. You don't have to win every argument. Learn how to disagree in an agreeable way.

22. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present.

23. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their life is really like.

24. You alone are in-charge of your own brand of happiness.

25. Frame every so-called "disaster" with the words: "In five years, will this really matter?"

26. Forgive everyone for everything.

27. What other people think of you does not really matter since you will ultimately be accountable to God alone, and no one else. So, let people say and think what they want, but just make sure that your conscience is completely clear, and everything is all right between you and God.

28. Enjoy life to the fullest. Remember that life is not Disneyland where you can take multiple rides. You have only one ride in life. Make the most of your one and only ride in this life.

29. No matter how good or bad a situation is in this life, it will eventually change and pass.

30. Get rid of anything that you feel is not beautiful, joyful, or useful to you.

31. Totally avoid envy for it is a total waste of time. To keep up with the Joneses and want and wish for what they have is utterly foolish and stupid---keep in mind that the Joneses are probably up to their gills in debt!

32. Know the difference between your needs and your wants. All that you really need in life are: (a) food & water to satisfy your physical hunger & thirst; (b) clothes to cover your nakedness and make you feel comfortable; and (c) shelter to protect you from the heat, the cold, and the bad elements in nature and society. Anything beyond your basic needs are nothing but wants which are nothing but fleeting fancies.

33. Unless you are deathly ill, no matter how you feel get up, get dressed, and savor each day. You have a lot more blessings than misfortunes than you realize.

34. Do the right thing in all circumstances.

35. Watch what you say and how you say it because you might end up having to eat your own words and face the embarrassing reality of your own actions later on.

36. Each night before you go to bed, complete the following statements: I am thankful for __________.
Today, I am glad that I was able to [accomplish]_________.

37. Keep in mind that the best is yet to come.

38. When you get into any kind of trouble, only your parents, immediate family, and true friends will be truly concerned and will take care of you. So, appreciate and love them, treat them well, and always keep in touch with them.

39. Keep in constant touch with God during each of your conscious and waking moments, from the time you awaken until the time you go to bed and fall asleep. That is the only way to keep the Devil and his temptations away from you.

40. Remember that each day that you are alive, you have a mission to accomplish for God's glory because it was by His choice---not yours--- that you should be born and should exist, and He has a specific plan for you and the entire world which He created.
