Be Merry?

Was watching channel 13’s evening news yesterday on which they aired Myrtle Beaches Christmas tree lighting. From what I could tell, there seemed to be quite a gathering. They could have made the event more entertaining with like music, our “wonderful” Mayor, guest speakers … something! Anyway, the count down went down and wa-la, lights! Ok, it’s beautiful! However, what really caught my attention was the announcers greeting at the conclusion of the ceremony.

I don’t know who it was, suppose I could go on line to find out, but his welcoming in of the season was; UNACCEPTABLE and OFFENSIVE!. Now, why didn’t he wish everyone a Merry Christmas rather than simply saying “be merry?” What the hell is this? Talk about so far to the right political correctness bullshyt! “Be merry!” … please! No Sir! Can you say M-e-r-r-y C-h-r-i-s-t-m-a-s? If not, learn!

If some numskull gets all bent out of whack because they were wished a Merry Christmas, get the f@#k over it! Go see your shrink! Personally, I was incensed by the announcer’s lack of respect for our season of celebration. It Is Christmas! It is a Merry Christmas! If you don’t like it, boo-hoo!, I feel like so bad for you … NOT!
